Adoptions
To adopt you must live within 100 miles of one of our adoption sites (Benld, Litchfield, O'Fallon or Springfield IL) and be at least 18 years of age. We require that you be physically present to make the final adoption arrangements. We also require that all cats be kept indoors, and that all dogs be kept in a fenced-in yard, secure pen, or indoors. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may constitute grounds for us to take back the adopted animal.
Adoption Fees:
All pets have been spayed/neutered, are up to date with shots/vaccinations, and have been micro-chipped. If you have any questions about the animals, or want to know more about the shelter, please call us at 217.835.2538

Peanut was relinquished to us by her owner who was moving and couldn't take her with them. She is a friendly girl but very concerned about her future at this time, which is understandable having lost her comfortable home. Princess has gone through a number of changes recently, and she hasn't received the care or attention that she needs and craves, so she will need a little extra attention in her new home.
"I'm not asking to be treated like a 'Princess', but I do need to be loved."

His owner was unable to care for him, so London came to the shelter to see if we could find him a nice cozy home. He was adopted shortly afterwards and returned after one day on 11.06.09, when it turned out that a child had an allergy to him. He was adopted again shortly after his return and was in a home for almost 8 years, after which he was picked up after being found running loose. He was not reclaimed and returned to the shelter 04.19.17. London is a happy little guy, very friendly and spunky. He needs an inside home with a yard or pen to play in safely.
