• DOG TRAINING DISCOUNTS
  New owners who adopt a dog from the shelter are entitled to a free evaluation with John Dahman, Master Dog Trainer. The evaluation must take place within one month of adoption. You will also receive a 10% discount for the basic manners group class, if you sign up within one month of adoption. • GOLF TOURNAMENT
  The 15th Annual Adopt-A-Pet Golf Tournament will start at 10 a.m., May 25th at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton, Illinois. $240 per team or $60 per person, making checks payable to Adopt-A-Pet. Entrance fees include golf, prizes food, live band and dinner followed by an auction. For further information give Dan Michki a call at 618-637-2133. • LOVE PIZZA? LOVE HELPING OUR SHELTER?
  Well now you can have both things together! Join us for our Monical's fundraiser! Mark your calendars now!!! The next pizza fundraiser is going to be Tuesday, July 22 at Monical's Pizza in Springfield Illinois. Enjoy a delicious dinner, including their famous thin crust pizzas, mouth-watering pastas and garden-fresh salads. Monical's Pizza will donate 20% of each bill to Adopt-A-Pet. You MUST take a flier with your order. The fliers will be on Adopt-A-Pet's website two weeks before the event. Fliers will also be available at the "All Cat Clinic" and "Coble Veterinary" two weeks before the date.
  
  
• Adopt-A-Pet has been participating in WalMart's pet adoption program since May 2006. Every month new pictures are posted on an adoption board in the pet department at our local WalMart store for viewing. You can also visit WalMart's website, www.VeryBestPetConnection.com which will link you to Petfinders.com where we have a list of all our adoptable pets. Each month we receive a gift card from WalMart and earn points toward a $1,000 grant that is awarded to the top 25 shelters.Check out our adoption board at the Litchfield WalMart and, starting in April 2007, we will also be posting at the WalMart in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

• Membership dues are due July 15th.The membership renewal form will be available in the Summer newsletter issue, and we have a special offer connected with membership renewal this year. Anyone who opens a new membership at the $50 level or higher has the chance to purchase our new logo t-shirt at ½ price, or 2 for 1, as they choose, plus postage please, at the time of joining only. Current members who upgrade their membership to the $50 level or higher may take advantage of the same offer. Anyone joining at the Lifetime level may have 2 shirts totally free. Please keep this in mind when your membership renewal comes up in July.

• Are you a real trucker? Do you know one? From time to time Adopt-a-Pet receives notice of donated pet-food or supplies availability in considerable quantity outside of our mid-Illinois area. If you drive a tractor trailer rig that we could call on for possible assistance, we would like to hear from you, and put you on our short list to contact as an opportunity arises. We will pay some expenses, but not enough to get you excited. Thanks for thinking about the animals!
